Our clients engaged Noventus to provide Software Development, Engineering and Testing services in support of a number of high profile projects.

• Control systems simulation on Collins Class Submarines

BUSINESS NEED

Our clients required access to a mature Software Engineering and testing capability to raise or supplement their own strengths. In many cases, the projects that our clients supported were high-profile and required dedicated and security cleared teams that could not be outsourced overseas.

The skill sets that our clients need are often broad and eclectic which requires staff with an unusual mix of skills, experience and qualifications. They engaged Noventus because of our track record in providing solutions in complex, large scale, highly classified and regulated environments.

NOVENTUS SOLUTION

Software Engineering

Noventus provided our client with staff to participate in user workshops and feedback sessions, apply approved software development processes to software development tasks, and produce software design and development artefacts including documentation for allocated components.

The staff also contributed to the development and improvement of software development processes, and assisted in the design and review of High Risk/High Priority components.

Noventus provided staff with relevant Engineering or Computer Science degrees, current experience in Java, C++, Oracle Apex, C#, .NET, MSSQL, WPF, WCF, and usually about 10+ years’ professional experience. They also required an understanding and commitment to the clients approved Software Engineering Processes, experience dealing with customers and end-users and an ability to independently undertake high level software design and implementation.

Simulation Development

Noventus staff conducted Software Engineering for an Air Traffic Management simulation project including safety critical, real-time simulation & user interface development, continuous integration, & requirements management.

Noventus also performed Tools Development for support & development of the engineering environment (Tools: e.g. code management, defect management, source code navigation / delivery & deployment). Another important aspect of this project was Systems Engineering including development of Functional Baseline modification proposals (Design & Architecture) & preparation / conduct of design reviews (SSR, SDR, PDR & CDR).

Testing

Noventus has provided skilled teams of software testers to conduct Systems Integration & Testing on major ICT projects. Capabilities included: software integration, regression testing, test automation, test script & plan development, & architecture risk identification.

Noventus was responsible for leading the Automation Testing Development activities for Human Machine Interface (HMI) to meet DO-278/ED109 Safety Requirements for a major Air Traffic Management Program.

OUTCOME                                               

As a result of the Noventus team achievements, the Clients were able to successfully complete their projects. This included critical capabilities such as Collins Class submarine functionality, Air Traffic Management user training and logistics tracking efficiency.
